Enrollment in the class is contingent upon approval of your internship.
International students must contact the International Student and Scholar Office prior to beginning this process to ensure that they are aware of all permit requirements.
Keep in mind the BUSX 460 internship requirements when conducting your search. It is important that you start this process early by submitting your application to several openings. Don’t apply to just one internship and hope that it will work out with that company. Be proactive! Take advantage of the numerous university and college resources available to assist you in your search.
Each semester, the College of Business and Economics hosts events that not only provide a wealth of information on professional development, but serve as a great opportunity to network with local business leaders.
Distributed by the college, the Career & Internship e-Newsletter provides a listing of available approved internships. Not receiving the Career e-Newsletter? Contact Lisa Michocki at email@example.com.
The Career Insider is an online resource which provides access to full-text industry guides, employer profiles and reviews, sample resumes, career videos and much more.
The Business Excellence staff are available to discuss additional ways to find internships. Schedule an appointment or stop by the office in Stephens Hall, room 301 during designated office hours, Mondays and Thursdays, 1:30-2:30 p.m.
Students also have the option of finding an internship on their own. Be sure to use your network to find out about openings.
Students must have their internships for BUSX 460 approved by the Director of Professional Experience, Lisa Michocki. Submit the online internship approval form here. An internship job description is required when submitting the online approval form.
Students are required to complete the first homework assignment by the first day of class for the semester. Any student that does not complete it will receive a deduction from the final grade (no exceptions).
Attendance at all seven class sessions for the BUSX 460 is mandatory. Students are encouraged to check the class schedule for the course in advance to ensure attendance. Only an excused absence (hospitalization of student or death in the family) is acceptable. Students who miss more than one class will receive a failing grade for the class.
