If you’re an employer looking for polished, professional interns to add value to your business, the College of Business and Economics can offer just that.
Our students are primed for the business world. At the CBE, we provide experiential learning through the Business Excellence program, which is designed to prepare students for personal and professional success by focusing on essential knowledge, skills and attitudes.
In the Business Communications course, students gain vital professional skills including giving presentations, writing business documents and working in teams. Armed with these skills, our students complete an approved internship for the capstone Professional Experience course-—a one-of-a-kind opportunity for both students and employers. Students complete their 120-hour internship in a professional office setting while concurrently reflecting on their experiences in the classroom.
Through this program—which is required for business administration, e-business and accounting majors—all of our students graduate with hands-on professional work experience on their resumes. For employers, the professional experience course functions similarly to a new-hire training program. While students are working for you, you will see them progress and improve over time.
We’re looking for employers that can offer valuable and challenging workplace internships for our students. We have a variety of ways to connect employers with students including the Career and Internships e-Newsletter, events, on-campus recruiting, our signature TU Match placement program and more.
If you're interested in learning more about our program and hiring students for internship or full-time positions, contact CBE’s Director of Student Academic and Career Services at BUSX460@towson.edu.
TU Match is a free, personalized placement program designed to help businesses fill internship and full-time positions by matching the right student with the right company. This premier service is offered to select companies looking to form long-term partnerships.
How does TU Match work?
CBE's Director of Student Academic and Career Services works with both you, the employer, and the student. Within TU Match, you will receive a one-one-one consultation with the director to identify roles and responsibilities for each position available to our students. Based on the qualifications for hire, positions are marketed to our diverse, talented and enthusiastic network of business students who are eager to contribute their strengths.
