Admission to the Major

Admission to the combined major in business administration and information systems is selective. Students are admitted to the major on a competitive basis after first being admitted to the university. You must first declare a "Pre-Business Administration" (PBUA) major and complete the lower-level prerequisites and other requirements before being admitted to the major. Once you have been admitted to the major, you may enroll in upper-level required business course and courses required for your concentration or track.

The requirements for admission to the major are:

  • Complete the seven lower-level required courses with a grade of 2.00 or higher in each course
  • Minimum GPA of 2.70 for ALL seven lower-level required courses
  • Earn a passing score of 70 percent or higher on the Computer Proficiency Exam.

You cannot register for upper-level courses until your have completed the minimum admission requirements. Your admission status will be sent to your Towson student email accounts at the beginning of each term and right before registration. You are required to meet each term with your assigned adviser to evaluate your progress in completing the requirements for admission to the major and the degree.
